About Me

My full name is Rebecca, but everyone has called me Becky since I can remember.  A lot of folks call me Beck or Beckster, which, I don’t really mind, it’s better than, “hey you!” I’m a Long Island girl, born and raised.  I have a “Lawn Guyland” accent, which I am very proud of. I have a big mouth.  I am addicted to reality television.  I am very stubborn.  I love everything bagels. I am independent.  I am obsessed with celebrity gossip. I go through bouts of blogging, periodically.  I hate milk. I love chocolate cookie dough ice cream and I collect magnets.

I ♥ Dave Matthews.  I have been to 50 live DMB concerts since 1998.  One could say I am obsessed with the band. I have a firedancer tattoo on my ankle.  One day I hope to meet Dave and have him sign next to it so I can get that tattooed there too. I MET HIM!!! My dream came true! I don’t like negativity.  I’m always smiling, even when I get thrown some bad situations, and believe me, I’ve had plenty of those recently.  You can read that story here.  I believe everything happens for a reason.  What that reason is, we may never know, but it does.  I hope I will find love again one day, but I’m not going to look for it.  If it’s meant to be, it’ll come to be. twitter-buttons

It is due to the events that occurred this past year that I have turned to Social Media to meet and network with new people around the world.  I love Twitter.  I tweet about everything.  I am even in the top 10 on the Long Island Twitter Elite on TwitterGrader.com (sometimes I’m even number 1 when the Playboy Bunny from Long Island isn’t in the lead).  I am the #2 Becky on Twitter, right behind Becky Buckwild from “Flavor of Love” and “I Love Money”.  I would like to think one day I will kick her out of the lead and be crowned the #1 Becky on Twitter. I mean, how many of these shows can she do? I am a self-professed “twaddict”, one who is addicted to Twitter. I have tweeted over 10,000 times in 6 months. I won’t sit here and say I’m a “social media expert” because, aren’t we all? Anyone can use the internet. You should steer clear of anyone who uses that term.  The world of Social Media is constantly evolving.  I do use the title “Tweetmaster Extraordinaire” on my business card.  I am not an “expert” but I’m pretty damn good.  I don’t know what I would do without the internet,  If I’m not on my laptop, I am tweeting on my iPhone.  Even my own Mother knew to check my Twitter page to see what I’m up to instead of calling me.  Klout.com says I’m a Specialist:

MissBeckala is a Specialist

You may not be a celebrity, but within your area of expertise your opinion is second to none. Your content is likely focused around a specific topic or industry with a focused, highly-engaged audience.

I have a strong background in marketing and advertising , having worked for three of Long Island’s largest advertising agencies and two of the Island’s top radio stations. I suppose you could say I am a Jill-of-all-Trades.  I have experience with Account Services as well as creative, media, sales and Social Media.   I can create logos, business cards, letterhead, direct mail postcards, brochures, flyers and other materials to promote your small business.  I can even assist you with printing. Is your business on Twitter or Facebook yet? If it isn’t, contact me today for a proposal on how you can fully utilize all that Web 2.0 has to offer.

UPDATE for 2011: I have started a Facebook Cover website, coverize.me! Check it out to personalize your timeline!

    Becky, here’s your answer.

Everything happens to you for a reason because it’s God trying to get your attention. Trying to get you to pursue Eternal Life. Imagine a child that continued to pursue bubble gum all their lives more than love or meaning. People who only pursue earthly things are those who God is trying to get their attention, namely “everyone”.

    Acts 2:38

    Best wishes, ;0)
