Prince William Got Married, bin Laden Got What He Deserved and Other Happenings

Hey everyone! Long time no blog on here and I’m sorry. There are just not enough hours in the day, seriously. I have good intentions when I say I will post regularly, but life just seems to get in the way every time! My last post three weeks ago was written the day after I met Dave Matthews, and I must say, I am still on a Dave-high. I hope it never goes away. I keep looking down at my new tattoo of his autograph, and it feels like it was all a dream! I updated that post with the other photo taken on a better camera, which is now the wallpaper on every one of my electronic devices and laptop.

Lots of things have happened in the past few weeks, not only around the world, but in my world too. Here’s a brief rundown:

The Royal Wedding – At first, I thought that the media coverage of this event was out of control.  But then, I kinda bought into it. It was hard not to. It was on every channel all the time.  I was one of those people you make fun of that got up at 5:30am to watch the whole event.  I think Kate makes a beautiful Princess Dutchess and they are just the cutest couple.  I hope the whole “celebrity” thing doesn’t get to her too much.  I just read that she went food shopping (the horror!) and pushed her own cart (OMG!). Why is it news that she is pushing a cart at the grocery store? I don’t think anyone was happier about the next news then William and Kate since they were taken out of the spotlight, finally….
Bin Laden’s Dead – Ding dong the terrorist is gone! I was walking on the driveway inside to the house and glanced down at my phone which was already on the Facebook app.  Every single status update was some variation on Osama Bin Laden Dead! Could it be? Seriously? After all these years, we FINALLY got him? As great news as this is, it was very alarming to hear NBC News saying “We don’t need to worry anymore.”  I think we’ll always have to worry. We aren’t exactly loved in other countries.  And now that we have killed their leader, I don’t really think they will be that much happier with us.
The Voice – Although I have in the past not been a fan of singing competition shows, I watched the first episode of The Voice and was completely hooked.  I love the competition aspect between the celebrity coaches. Definitely a must watch!
African Cats – I went to see the movie ‘African Cats’ with Emily.  She loves animals, especially cats, just like me, so I figured it would be great. While it was a wonderful movie, the scenes when the animals are hunting prey were a little disturbing.  I suppose this is really what happens in the wild, but I like to just think of the animals as all cute and cuddly, like my Gracie.
Blogging for Patch – I have been asked to be a local featured blogger on the Smithtown Patch website! Very excited that my voice will be heard now throughout my local community.  I will always post here what I post there, so if you aren’t from Long Island, you won’t miss out.

OK, that’s all for now.  Just wanted to give you a quick update as to what I’ve been busy with. New blog posts coming soon!
