It takes awhile to get PR. I started blogging in May 2008. I submitted my blog to every directory I could, commented on others blogs, etc. It still took months to just get it from N/A to zero. Finally around Christmas I got a PR above zero. Unfortunately, Google is just slow like that. Hang in there.

hey becky,

don't worry about your pagerank showing as 0. that actual figure is only updated by google for our eyes every few months. what you see on the toolbar or PR checkers is usually out of date.

the all in one seo plugin is very good as it helps you get all the on-page factors right (headers, titles, etc), but it doesn't make any difference to PR. it's the links to your site that will do that.

on the redirect thing, it is best to chose either www.domain.com or domain.com and have the other redirected. my experince is that you don't get all of the page rank value if some of your links are going to www.domain.com and the rest to domain.com. a 301 redirect will funnel them all to the same place :)
