I attended my second #LITweetup last night. It was held at Croxley Ales in Farmingdale. It is so nice to be in the company of other twaddicts. Every person had some sort of wireless device in front of them, whether it be laptop, netbook, Blackberry or iPhone. There were several videos taken by tweeps in attendance that were posted onto Twitter directly from the event (video by @ray, @dani3boyz, @islesblogger, @namnum). Overall, it was fun meeting up my fellow local tweeps as always. Many were people I had met before, some I followed and never met. Who says you can’t keep Twitter relationships outside of Twitter?
There were a few new Twitter tools I learned about while at the tweetup:
- TwitVid -If you watched the videos above, you saw TwitVid, the newest Twitter app that lets you upload video directly to Twitter, a la Twitpic. I had never seen this before and it makes me wish that when I took videos on my Blackberry would actually play on my Blackberry or computer. Is that asking too much?
- SocialScope – A new application for Blackberries. @dani3boyz showed me the app on her phone and it’s AWESOME. I am sick of Twitterberry’s suckiness and UberTwitter has pissed me off lately with the ads on every screen. Tweetdeck is only on iPhones and us Blackberry twaddicts get screwed. Hopefully this will make me tweet more from my Blackberry. I requested an invite to the beta, but @namnum said it could take a whole month. I hope not cause I really want to try it NOW!
- TwitZap – Another new web based app. They are just popping up left and right! I haven’t had the chance to check it out, but it’s similar to TweetDeck in that you can have columns and groups.
